Emergencies. If you are having thoughts of harming yourself or someone else, are detoxing from alcohol or drugs, or are otherwise having a medical or mental health emergency, go to your nearest ER or call 911 for assistance. We provide a variety of counseling services, including confidential consulting by email. You may set up an email appointment here. There are several modalities for addressing a problem with your use of alcohol and/or drugs. First, a look at the severity of the problem. If you would like a private, secure consult face to face online, contact me, see above. I am a free agent and an experienced addictions counselor. (See my resume.) I am not paid by any treatment center or treatment provider for this service or to refer you to them. I will do my best to see that you are provided with choices and resources appropriate to your needs. I do not bill insurance. My fees are as follows:
I will assist you in admissions procedures if you decide you want to go to treatment and I will charge you for the time required to make phone calls, secure releases of information from you by fax, determine bed availability and date for admission. You may schedule time for support at any time you feel you want it. If you are a family member or friend of someone needing help, I will refer you to the nearest interventionist. A formal intervention takes time and planning and face to face work with family and friends. This is not something I will do online. In accordance with the Health Information Portability Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), I will follow the guidelines set forth in the NOTICE OF PRIVACY PRACTICES. As indicated in the NOTICE OF PRIVACY PRACTICES, I will not share any Protected Health Information regarding your involvement with the practice with anyone, including your employer and your family members, without your prior knowledge and explicit written consent. The exception to this is by a subpoena, and the specific instances identified in the NOTICE OF PRIVACY or the following situations that are mandated by both Federal and State law: (1) Threat of serious harm to self or others. (2) Suspected child abuse. (3) A medical emergency
